New Steering Connecting Rod Repair Kit (1 required per vehicle) – Part#: 923418A
Q: How do I remove the drag link?
- A: There are two end caps on the drag links (one on each end) that are slotted to take a big phillips head screwdriver. Just unscrew the caps and everything will loosen up and fall apart.
Q: Looking for a drag link for 1949 Willys Truck 4wd.
- A: This hardware kit is proper. If you need the drag link itself. Please call me toll free. We are more than happy to help out.
Q: I have installed the drag link repair kit and relocated it on the wagon. I have also installed a new steering arm and ball on the pitman arm. How tight are the end caps on the drag link adjusted?
- A: You want a good tight slip fit. Not enough to bind but not have slop.
Q: Will this fit a 6-226 Willys Station Wagon?
- A: Yes that is correct.
Q: I have a 1955 Willys Truck and when ever we go over 40 mph there is a lot of wheel slop on the front end. I was told to replace the outer tie rod end and the pitman arm. I can see to find the pitman arm on your online store, what else would I need to replace to correct the issue?
- A: We also sell steering stabilizer kits part number#: SJ-7100 I would also check out your king pins and yes your tie rod ends too. As well as your steering gear box and drag link.

1959 Willys 4WD Pickup draglink installation. I installed all the repair parts in draglink per the illustration in the Service manual but there does not appear to be enough room in the front end of the draglink to accommodate the parts and the bellcrank ball.I cannot screw the end cap in. Does the belcrank ball need to be pressed in after all the repair parts have been installed? Is there a trick to compressing the spring to make more room so the endcap reaches the threads?
