Q: Why are there two gaskets of the similar pattern? The black one and the brown one in the picture. What is the point of the two?

• A: They just give extra I believe.

Q: I have purchased a 1960 CJ-5 in great condition, I thought ??? Almost rust free engine runs really smooth no smoke, instant start up. When I went to drain the transmission oil water came pouring out!!! NOW I’M WORRIED. What should I do about the transmission? I mixed diesel and oil together and filled transmission with that and let set overnight. Will drain and fill with Lucas 75/90 in the AM. What should I do about the transmission? Should I run it a bit, change oil and wait and see??? 

• A: I would pull the top shifter off to inspect the gears.

Q: Does this kit include the paper gasket between the parking brake backing plate and the rear bearing cap? Is this gasket even needed?

• A: Yes that is correct.

Q: I have a 46 CJ-2A, the stock 4-134 engine is gone and a Buick 225 V-6 is in it’s place. I have no idea what kind of T-Case I have how would I find that out?

• A: You probably still have the original Dana 18 transfercase in there. It will be stamped on the back of it.

Q: I have a 46 CJ-2A the transfer case was leaking out rear output seal so I replaced it but it still leaks! What do I try next?

• A: Make sure the yoke it is making the seal around does not have a grove or wear pattern in it.

Q: 1970 CJ-5 Dauntless V6 Runs about 220 to 230 temp only at highway speeds 55m.p.h. and up. It will run the same around town when outside temp in upper 90s. Flushed cooling system change rad. cap same results. Can usually drive around town at about 190 to 200 deg. Any ideas?

• A: I would check your thermostat and radiator cap. You water pump may not be functioning 100%

Q: Hi, I usually buy accessories here in “KAISER Willys” For a Willys in CAPE VERT ISLANDS REPUBLIC. I need some accessories but I have some doubts about the items .

a) I Need to buy a complete gasket set with oil seals for a Willys CJ-3B transfercase. The item 923300 has all gasket set with oil seals? If not correct, can you help me to choose the correct item? (The Willys CJ-3B was manufactured in 1962. )

b) The item 801058 (Dual shift lever rubber boot) is suitable for the Willys?

• A: Yes this is correct. They will be correct and proper for your vehicle.

Q: I just rebuilt my transmission and all I need is the rear cover plate gasket for the transfercase. I bought all my transmission parts from you and I’m wondering if I can just purchase the rear cover plate gasket for the transfercase from you? I don’t need the whole kit.

• A: I would just use some silicone to make that seal.
