This is my 1952 model k523 Henry J Vagabond. The car is a late 1951, having no trunk lid, but has opening vent windows and vagabond emblems. It has the factory 134ci with the 3 speed with overdrive, which runs like a dream. My father bought this car, drove it home and started the process of rebuilding it. He did everything himself, from paint to interior ect…..

In the summer of 2005 Dad founded “The Dirty Shirt Gang”. As a car club for us dirty shirters out there. The Henry has been to many car shows, ice cream runs, and just to take it out to “blow the stink off”. With the passing of dad this past year I was giving the Henry, to keep dads memory and wishes to have more kids involved in cars. If there is any way to get Henry in a publication would be great. It would show how proud our father was of his work, and how proud we are of him. Thank you for this opportunity.

Great restoration. These images really show the depth of “style” & scale this model holds. I do wonder what it sounds like. It’d be really great to see it in person. Totally, cool –

What a great example of the infamous Henry J. Most folks haven’t even heard of the Henry J, and for those of us that have or remember them never see them anymore. What a great restoration and blast from the past. Thanks for sharing.

I am working on a 1953 Henry J Corsair Deluxe, the gas tank is rusted, the car can’t start now. How do I replace the gas tank? Any leads? If I can’t find a replacement, I will get the tank resurfaced. Thanks.
