Here are some images of the Jeep. The black and white one was taken the day I bought it in 1980 for about U$200. I was 16 then. Back then it had bullet holes in the sides from the war etc. I reconditioned it with my dad which lasted me until the other day. Co-incidentally there is a guy building MB bodies nearby so I treated myself to a new one and rebuilt it again with my son who is now 21. It is totally original (besides the body which has the original firewall), one of the very few MBs around here. The number stencilled on the hood is missing a “6” which would then tie up with the tag on the left front chassis rail. (See color images). I wonder how many others can count themselves so lucky to have had one for 39 years and still only be 55?
