695: Earl Harmon’s 1944 Willys MB
I’ve had this Jeep for nearly 40 years and had never driven it. No engine, brakes etc. It was registered with a DMV PIN, so no problem there. I turned 70 in 2016, and figured if I was ever going to drive it, I had better do something about it. Over the next two years or so I worked on it steadily. It was not in a garage, so nothing happened during inclement weather. I put in an engine, rebuilt the brakes, painted it, and made all the stencils by myself. My wife did help me bleed the brakes. The first start time I started it, it kicked right over. After several more days of adjustments, we went for a spin. I’ve been driving it since.
