611: James Bowler’s 1960 Willys Truck
Where do I start. Being a Jeep guy it was love at first site. “Ole Yellar” as I call him has been a nut and bolt restoration. Found this truck on kijiji.ca here in Canada. Bought this truck with a few bad pictures and the word from the owner NO RUST… Truck was 6 hours away so I hired a local transport company to pick up and drop off. When it showed up in a enclosed trailer it was 9pm darkness had set in. We unloaded it and got a better look in the morning. My jaw dropped to the ground, it was a total rust bucket. Was not very happy with the seller… “Buyers Beware”. So I thought about it it for a day and decided well here I have a 1960 Willys Truck for my collection. Build or not to build. “Ole Yellar” became a frame-off rebuild. Had to hunt down a box/fenders and tailgate. Had parts from other builds, so the fun began. Day in day out we started, just retired so I found the time to get’er done… Came out better then I had expected. Basically its been 1 year and Ole Yellar is not far off…. Just a few minor things left but I got her done…. Going down the road.

I have a 1953 Willys truck, restored to original condition. What would you suggest to change gearing for better road speed?

Hi. I live in Prince George, BC, Canada and own a Jeep one tone pick up truck similar to Jeep 611 from James Bowler. How would I determine a faire selling price?
Thank you for a reply. Klaus Gebert.
