581:  Steve Tippett’s 1947 Willys CJ-2A

It was sitting in a parking lot at an apartment building apparently not running. I left my card requesting a call if interested in selling. Two months later I got a call from a young lady who wished to sell but didn’t know what was wrong with it. I negotiated down the price and towed it home. Reamed out the gas line with a wire coat hanger and it started right up. The military look is in honor of D-Day service men and especially my Dad who was a member of the 611 Combat Engineers.

  1. Two (2) pictures this week of CJ2A’s with a second hood latch on each side (rear of side of hood. Mine had that and I always thought some previous owner had replaced the hood with a poorly fitting one. Appears, not so.
Is there a story behind the “four (4) latch hoods?
