563: Joe Monk’s 1948 Willys CJ-2A
This Jeep has been a member of the family since 1953, when it was bought by my grandfather. Last year, it received a total rebuild, finished off with a custom mix of two paint colors and a flat finish. The fiberglass figure in the photo is an iconic piece of American advertising art, which stood in front of a Hendersonville, NC restaurant in the mid-20th century. I am a grandfather now, and I hope my children and grandchildren will be able to enjoy this ’48 Willys well into the future.
