342: John Kristensen’s 1951 Willys M38
I bought this Jeep as a rolling chassis in 1994. I think it is now finally finished, but maybe not as Jeeps are never finished. It now has a 327 ci, Ford T18 4spd w/ Dana 20 transfer case. CJ-5 suspension, dana 44 rear and dana 30 front w/ 373s. Power steering, power brakes. It also has a custom frame mounted roll cage topped off with a military spec canvas top. Doors are one of a kind suicide doors. This Jeep has undergone 2 major restorations. I have been picking away at it for over 20 years. I can only imagine I have invested thousands of hours into it. It drives beautiful and gets thumb up everywhere I go.
