245: Alvin Hughes’ 1945 Ford GPW
This is my Ford GPW complete restoration with new MD Juan Master Body Kit. I found my GPW while looking on ebay for old jeeps for sale. It came from an estate located on a 40 acre farm north of Wake Forest, NC. The guys uncle I bought it off of had acquired it military surlus some 60 years ago and had used it on the farm until his death in 2010. The Nephew did not know much about jeeps and I thought I had purchased a late 40s CJ2A for $800.00. I was totally suprised when I arrived to pick it up and I was looking at a 1945 GPW with all three data plates intact on the glove box door. I have been working slowly on restoring it for the last two years.
