David Walker's 1952 Willys M38A1

174: David Walker’s 1952 Willys M38A1

This 1952 M38A1 is owned by Hartford Fire and Rescue Department in Iowa. We currently use this tough old beast to handle grass and brush fires that our 4WD pickup can’t get to because of size or weight. This Jeep has a custom built water tank, Honda pump and custom plumbing for spraying the wet stuff on the hot stuff! It also has a winch that can be used on the front or rear by use of a receiver hitch. We also have a chainsaw on board and a foaming system for the stubborn fires. Everything is mostly original except for the tires.David Walker's 1952 Willys M38A1David Walker's 1952 Willys M38A1David Walker's 1952 Willys M38A1David Walker's 1952 Willys M38A1

  1. Mr. Walker,
Where is the spare tire carrier that should be on the back of your MDM-38A1? thye also had usually a 5 gallon gas can holder along side of them. Otherwise very nice shape, and also is the electrical system 24 volt yet?

    Sincerely,
    Dave

  3. Hi there. Just wondering what size of tires those are? I see they are Firestone M/T’s. Just curious if they are 235’s or 215’s? Thanks. Dan.
