126: Peter Rosenthal’s 1953 Willys M38A1
Here are some pictures of my M38A1. This is my third M38A1. I would like to take credit for all of this beautiful work but, I must admit, it was like this when I bought it. I had too many skinned knuckles from working on Jeep number 2 so I decided to treat myself to this Jeep and sell the other one.

My dog “Scout” loves to ride shotgun. I am also enclosing a picture of my wife at a local car show. I can park the Jeep next to almost any show car and my Jeep always gets the attention as you can see. It is registered as a 1952 but, I’m pretty sure it’s a 1953.

HI Peter,
That’s a very fine looking Jeep! I’m just wondering why your great dog is named after an International??!

Hello Pete, it’s Karl and Margarita Holmstrom. I was looking at the web site and say your most beautiful jeep. I Have never seen a better jeep any place. I have a 1952 CJ3a which was a navy jeep with but looks nothing like your. Good luck and great seeing you, your wife and of course your wonderful dog. Karl.

Very nice! I am in the process of restoring a 1953 M38A1-C. I hope mine comes out looking as good as your M38A1.

Beautiful Jeep!
Beautiful Jeep!
Awesome M38A1 Pete!!!
I can relate to the skinned knuckles! (I banged myself up plenty when I restored my ’55 Willys – a M38A1 / Cj5 hybrid).
My experience has been about the same as yours when it comes to ‘car shows’…everyone loves a Jeep and there are precious few other vehicles that draw a crowd like a military Jeep!
Very nice!

Very Nice! I am restoring a 1954 M38A1. You have set a very lofty goal! I’m a month in, and have $ $$ in parts, but I am having a blast doing the restoration. Joe.
