070: Mike Anderson’s 1965 Willys Truck
I have had this truck since 1977. It was a J200 2-Wheel Drive when I got it. I converted it to a 4×4 around 1980 with original jeep truck parts. It was a little easier but not much to find parts then! Almost impossible today.

The truck is titled 1965 but the information I have puts it being manufactured in 63 or 64. A couple of years ago I put power steering on it. I found everything original expect for a pump. That power steering by strong arm was getting old.

Need to finish the interior. Maybe this summer!

Very cool old Pick-up…you simply cannot go wrong with an old jeep for dependability.

This is really super looking. I just bought a 1960 Willys Station Wagon and need to update it. Not sure where to start. Any tips or Web site ideas is much appreciated.

Very nice. I like it when someone really takes pride in their work. That’s unusual this day and time.

Beautiful truck. You have done a wonderful job on it. I have a ?’65 also, soon to get a ’77 frame and chassis and a fuel efficient engine package. Come see us @ http://www.IFSJA.org. There are a few hoarders that have parts for these full size Jeeps.

That engine compartment is immaculate(and so is the rest of the truck). What engine is it?

I didn’t see an answer so I’ll let you know it’s a 230 Tornado overhead cam straight six engine, made by Continental. They used these after the flathead super hurricane 226 straight six, starting in 1962. They didn’t ever come with the cover polished like that but it sure does look cool. These are an awesome engine that was made for tractors at the time.
