Mark Hendrickson's 1962 Station Wagon

015: Mark Hendrickson’s 1962 Station Wagon

Hi Mike, this is my 1962 Willys Station Wagon. Its all original except wheels, electric wipers, 25 gallon fuel tank and a 226 Hurricane motor with warn overdrive.

I drive this truck most every day, it gets around 20 mpg if I keep the speed below 55 & the rpms low. I do volunteer work with the forest service through the summer & drive the Willys everywhere, from my home in Western Oregon. I have driven this truck through the Nevada desert & Utah into Colorado & many trips to Idaho & Montana. Its been to countless fire lookouts all over the West & other than the clutch linkage breaking, its never let me down. I expect this wagon will outlast me if I take care of it.

Thanks to all the wonderful folks at KWAS. Without You I couldn’t use this Jeep as I do.

  1. Are you sure this isn’t a 1960, or 59? the 62 did not come with the hood latches, or the rear wrap around bumber. Otherwise VERY nice car!

  3. Joe, 59′ was the last year for straight stainless steel trim. 1960 was the “Mavrick” mod with the trim shown in te pic.

  4. Im also from the Portland Or area

the 5th lever is for the Warn overdrive

I did the same with my 63 wagon..I added hood latches and it came with the wrap around chrome bumper. I drive mine everyday to work about 10 miles from home.

  5. oops, my bad. The 5th lever could be for a rear mounted something or other that needs the pto because like you pointed out “Gregbuquerque” there is not a pto powered winch visible

  7. Great Jeep. I haven’t a 1961 with a 283 Chevy that replaced the original 226 that has 18k miles. It has 53k verifiable miles and original interior, floor mats and paint. Great Jeep.
