Hi fellow Jeep fans, this is my 1953 CJ-3A. I bought it a few months ago from a dodgy import dealer for a shed load of dosh, and yep I think I was a bit dazzled by its pure unmolested good looks.

I have rebuilt the brakes and front hubs, fitted new rear springs and shackles. The engine runs fine after rebuilding the solex but it now requires a 12 volt conversion as the 6 volt system and slow cranking not to mention the 6 volt facet by-passing the old and dead fuel pump just gives me sleepless nights!

It has now got to the point where I have had to fab and fit a draw bar so I can tow it home after its regular 60 yard trial and break down drives.

I  almost popped it on Flea bay the other week, but then it started without me having to throw neat petrol down the carb!

So I will carry on fixing stuff, why do us fella’s torture ourselves!
