This is my father’s 1953 CJ-3B Willys. He has owned it since 1971 with literal countless miles as it was his daily driver up until the early 1990’s. This jeep has so many memories with it that every time my father and I are working on it I’m still hearing new stories. It’s not a perfect Willys by any means, but it’s something we are both truly proud of. Restoration fell off in the late 90’s where it sat until recently where we began to try to make it a weekend warrior again for him to enjoy his retirement in. We created out own wiring harness and custom fuse box bringing the electrical into the 20th century. Upgraded to a digital ignition system, had the original Carter carburetor refurbished to OEM spec. Converted to a electronic fuel pump. Last season we learned we had a bent axle tube in the front causing alignment issues and was able to correct that. This winter we are converting the front to disc brakes and a dual bowl master cylinder that we just ordered last week. My father is loving this Jeep and is always getting asked about it everywhere we go.
