To begin pressure wash your frame, removing as much dirt, grease, loose paint and debris as possible. Next you will need to prepare the surface for its first coat of metal primer paint. Depending on your frame’s condition a variety of tools can be used. For example, a metal grinder with a flapping, sanding head. A drill with a variety of round wire brush heads may also be used to sand the surface of the frame. Remember to make sure you are wearing the appropriate safety attire in every step of your Jeep’s rebuild or restoration. Flat wire brush heads are great for getting into seams and crevices. But in many cases, a simple wire brush will do the job. Above all of these great techniques, sandblasting is the best way to prepare your frame. Sandblasting may be an expensive route to take, but if you need it completely scoured   in a short amount of time, it is the best way to smooth your frame for painting. Finally, use a pressure washer to remove any remaining metal shards, bits or dust particles. Now your frame is ready for painting.
