I bought the bronze 49 truck over a year ago, as I always wanted one. My Grandpaw had an old fishing truck when I was growing up. He took us everywhere in it. I remember it, and mainly the wooden side boards. Always liked the looks and wanted one. Now I’m afraid I’m addicted and have added another to my collection.

Well, since my INITIAL FIND of the 1949 bronze Willys Truck, ” my ADDICTION” has led me to get yet another to add to the herd. Got a 1948 Willys truck, 3 speed, 4 cylinder motor, clamshell rear end, and redoing it, like I have done the 1949 bronze one. I like these ole flatnose trucks. Guys, do yourself a favor and get one of these super solid and dependable Willys Trucks. They will out live all of us. The Kaiser Willys folks have great affordable and hard to find parts and super advice. Willys made trucks the way they should be made nowdays. I have a 2009 Ford pickup, but I am sure BOTH WILLYS will outlast it. The Willys are fun to work on and fix up and fun to drive on the Ranch and to town to get hay and feed. The Longhorns don’t seem to mind it either, and my dog, Cinch likes riding it them. The pic with the skelton, well, just to symbolize that Willys LAST FOREVER !!!! I am a retired Army RANGER and rode bulls for the Army also, so love the outdoors, and will pass on these Willys to grandkids when I am gone.

Found a Willys pickup junkyard in northern Canada with over 100 pickups in it. I’ve been sworn to secrecy. Don’t ask !!

I have a 1948 wiilys pick-up that my dad purchased brand new. (I have the orginal title) He put a 1952 ford flat head V8 to power it ( back in the 50″s. ) . Sad that my Dad is gone . But that truck is still running strong.

I totally agree with you, on trucks and dogs. I have had my 59 (stock, but completely gone through), which I have used all the time as our ranch truck since about 1989.
My Queensland heeler, Rip is 16, still going strong, but deaf. Both the truck and dog replaced previous Jeeps and heelers. Keep them going!

Great Pictures– What did you use on the floors and ceiling. Is their insulation under?

Very cool! The pup seems to enjoy his spot!
I am new to the world of Willy’s so I apologize for my lack of knowledge ahead of time! I was hoping someone could answer a quick question for me. Say I have a ’59 Willy’s pickup and I would rather have a WO stamped tailgate which from my understanding was no longer continued after ’53.. did the tailgate size stay some what the same size over the years? Is there a standard tailgate size? I am on the hunt! Appreciate any feedback! Happy Holidays all!
