445: Ben Todd’s Willys M38

It started life as a M38 but was used to fish out of at the beach in the 1960s and 1970s. The body and many of the components rusted away. I picked up what was left of it in 2018. It had been sitting in a barn for 30 years. I completely rebuilt it although this time it has a fiberglass body. Almost all parts were purchased from Kaiser Willys. It runs and drive great.

  1. The Jeep looks real good, and the fiberglass body is extremely rust resistent, but fiberglass does not stand up well to stresses. As long as you do not twist it hard such as with rock crawling it will last much longer than steel in humid climates..

  3. Very nice Jeep. Clean lines, nicely appointed top and upholstery. Looks like a factory build of the original.
    Well done.
