209: Mike Baker’s 1966 Tuxedo Park CJ-5A
I’ve owned this Jeep for 3 yrs now, it is my 3rd and most likely my last one. My dad owned a new 66 Tuxedo Park so when this one popped up I had to have it. This one has 89K miles and is all stock even the oil bath and air filter. The body is rough but I will put a new kit on it soon. This has the V-6 so it goes like well you know.

What a nice Jeep, a Complete Tuxedo Park six cylinder. I have a Tux four cylinder, but the six is a lot more drivable. It is really hard to find Tux parts, so to have a complete one is a great start. Best of luck with your Tuxedo Park. Rick Whitson
Beautiful restore! I have my 66 Tuxedo 5a that I just finished up with. Presidential Red and all the origional parts and chrome, 538 gears and the warn overdrive, Three on the tree, Origional owners manual still in the plastic even has the blank owner card that came with the original paperwork. The origional owner put a optional spare tire carrier that is correct for the year and somehow misplaced the rear license plate light (would love to find one). Have some extra chrome and 5a parts I would share with the right person.
GREAT JOB! Have fun with her

I have a CJ5 rim off a 1966 Jeep that has four holes drilled into the mid center raised area of the rim. Do you have holes in your rims like that and where they put there to install clips for the hub caps? Your old picture reminds me of the Jeep this rim came off of. It was white with red interior as well. Reply to mastersdon@hotmail.com
Wish I had the old hubcaps, very nice job, didn’t read the entire article yet, where are all the duns?

Mr. Baker,
When I was younger I simply drooled at seeing the tuxedo park mk4 or 5. A rare beautiful find to say the least. Keep it clean and preserved or all time.
sincerely,
Dave
3 on the tree if I remember correctly , is that a steering stabilizer ? if so the fix for it can be challenging, and good reprint parts and service manuals are a real help. having done two steering rebuilds so far I still rely on those manuals not exactly fun but the end results of a complete rebuild are worth it. those jeeps are pretty rare I’ve only seen 2 or maybe the same one twice. that six cyl. engine really make those jeeps keep up with traffic. you’re lucky to have found one that wasn’t all modified beyond recognition. have a great time with your JEEP.
