This is my M38A1C, (without the gun), that I just finished this week after a two and a half-year rebuild. I have had this Jeep for about twenty-six years. It quit running about twenty years ago and sat in the garage collecting dust. It had lots of rust and the passenger side of the body was cracked causing the whole vehicle to sit in a twisted cant. In 2012, I towed it to a friend’s shop and started a full, body-off, complete bumper-to-bumper rebuild. Everything was either replaced or rebuilt: engine, axles and differentials, steering gear box, transmission/transfer case, all new wiring harness, brake lines, fuel lines, etc. Right now it has an M31 pedestal machinegun mount in it but I will soon begin looking for a correct 106mm to go on it. Everything now works including the full deep water fording gear. I put the tailgate on it until such time I acquire and mount the recoilless. – Jim
