Alan Henninger

My father bought it in 1954. I inherited it when He died, and in time, it will be passed along to my son and grandson.

  1. Jeep has spent most of its life in and around Yosemite. It’s now in San Jose because of the numerous fires in the Sierras.
I think the color is a standard beige, but I don’t know the official name for it. Recently I tried to find a matching color because the back side of the gas tank had become swiss cheese; and after repair, I needed to repaint it to match. I eventually found an engine enamel which was close.

  3. I have a similar 462A and was able to match up Rustoleum Dark Taupe to my original. My body does not have the indents for the pioneer tools but it was an original column shifter, around vin 36,000. Did they paint the Willy’s logo black on the originals? It looks sharp but I want to keep it close to original. My Jeep is not a “show boat” as it has the original body with numerous rough patches but runs great.
