New Tire Inner Tube for 16″ Rim – Part#: TUBE-16

Q: Are the valve stems on these tubes short or long?

  • A: These are the proper short stems.

Q: Do you recommend using some sort of valve stem protector with these tubes or are they not necessary?

  • A: They really are not necessary.

Q: Is this correct for a tire 6.00×16.00?

  • A: Yes that is correct.

Q: I need new tubes but with my rims I need tubes that have fat short valves because the hole for the valves is bigger then a regarded rim.

  • A: We have a few options on tubes. Please call us toll free.

Q: I have a 1951 CJ-3A. It is used in South Texas for hunting – lots of sharp thorns etc. Do you guys have any ideas on puncture proofing tires? Do they make a puncture proof tube?

  • A: They must be some big thorns!

Q: They are big thorns – mesquite….You get tired of fixing flats. So – I guess there are no puncture proof tubes that you guys know of?

  • A: I would put flaps in that might help.

Q: What PSI are these supposed to be inflated to?

  • A: Your tire will have a stamping on the side with recommended psi pressure.

  1. you can get away without using the valve stem grommet, but if your rims are old or pitted, the valve hole will be less than smooth and round. the tube will move inside the tire while its being inflated and be forced against one of the edges. spending under 5 bucks for valve grommets keeps the valves centered in the hole and the tubes life extended, plus its doing it right. the grommets go on the rims first then one bead of the tire then the tube then the other bead. don’t forget to powder the inside of the tire and liberally the tube.no menthol powder!
