I had no information about my jeeps history, data plates had been changed, and I couldn’t find information relating to its body or engine number here in Australia. It was in a fair shape when I got it about 4 years ago , running though lots of rust, poor brakes and steering and suspension, so all replaced, as well as rebuilding anything rebuildable. It was very poorly painted in marine green, so everything was stripped back all rust removed and repainted and straightened. I went for a NW Europe look for 1944, with serial number from a batch of’43 GPW’s sent to England. So not entirely accurate, though it has the look I was after.
