This is my 1969 Jeep CJ5, that I’ve owned for 32 years. It has become one of the family members. Both my son and daughter learned to drive a stick in this vehicle. The chassis and drive train are original with the 134F head engine the Spiecer T90 transmission and the Dana 18 transfer case. All components have been refreshed or completely rebuilt with the help of Kaiser Willys Auto Supply. In 1990 the tub was shot and replaced with a fiberglass tub and one piece front clip. Some of the best times we’ve had was riding around with our kids, and now with our grandkids. I expect to pass it along when I’m no longer able to. Here’s to another 32 years.

Just one thing about fiberglass tubs, if you twist them a lot you will have stress cracks showing up very soon. Dave & Sasha.
Thomas,
I sure know how you feel about your Jeep. I have had my 1956 CJ5 for 62 years, since I was 18, during all those years, I had it in California, then Nevada going to college, finally California again in the Mojave Desert, and now last 46 years in Oregon, all types of areas, some were wonderful for exploring in the mountains, and the desert areas too.
I love the Jeep, but now it is coming to the later years, I am now 80 years old, so one of these days it will go to my sons.
I will miss the old Jeep. Used to do mini overhauls every few years as it had one valve seat with a hairline crack and would burn that valve every 4 years. Then in 1976, I put in a rebuilt engine, which is still in it today, that ended the burnt valves.
Original body, everything except that rebuilt engine. I have built a couple Capacitive Discharge Ignition Systems for it, welded a winch setup in front, did body repairs for rust damage, and have a very nice metallic Blue Green paint job, so it looks beautiful.
Hope you enjoy yours for many more years, before it goes to your children.
Best of luck, Thomas!
