My 1951 CJ3A Jeep was a wedding gift from my bride-to-be. We stumbled across it in a field of a family friend in rural South Carolina about a year earlier and spent the remainder of the weekend talking about how much fun it would be to restore it and then take it into the mountains for camping trips. I proposed to her a few months after finding the jeep and, in my proposal, told her I wanted to spend the rest of my life working on vehicles with her (something we enjoy doing together). As our wedding approached, she asked to exchange wedding presents – a Southern tradition- a little early. I was speechless when she unveiled the jeep. It was an early gift because she wanted us to get it running in time for the wedding so we could use it to drive away, and we did! Since then we have stripped it down to the bare frame and are rebuilding it as new. It’s about 95% finished and should be completed in February 2012- exactly 1 year after I received it.
Congratulations to both!!
What a wonderful wedding gift!!
Hope enjoy your Willys for all the years to come.
All the best,
Carlos
