This is a civilian Jeep that was purchased in Oregon. The Jeep was named “Smiling Jack” and it had been painted with military markings for the previous owner. I had returned from Iraq and my wife Cindy had purchased the Jeep as a surprise Christmas gift (2009) for me. I noted that the Jeep was a early civilian model and scratched through the green paint to learn that the original color was Luzon Red. I had the Jeep restored in 2010 and the photos included show the progression over the course of the year (I have additional photos of the restoration process if needed). The Jeep was completely restored in November 2010 and I drive it every chance I get! You will note in one photo that there is a copy of the current Kiser Willy’s catalog on the passenger side seat area as the Jeep was restored using replacement parts from Kaiser Willys.
