New Complete Steel Body Tub Kit with “WILLYS” stamping – Part#: DMC673859-2A
Q: Does this kit have a glovebox on dash and does it have a tool box under the passenger seat?
- A: CJ-2A’s never had glove boxes. Yes it does have the tool bin just like original.
Q: I have a Willys Jeep Vin # 17501303 and on the title it states a 1965 Willys CJ2A 64124 and it has the parts on it for a shovel and axe can someone tell me if this is the correct year of this vehicle.
- A: Please call us toll free. We can help you ID your Willys. Titles are often wrong.
Q: What thickness is the steel you use for the body tub kits on all the parts?
- A: 18 gauge steel used on body tubs in the front and rear flooring, all mounting brackets, top cowl assembly, and wheel housings. 16 gauge steel used on body tubs for all side and tail panels. It’s MOPAR licensed product too.
Q: Does the complete body kit include the body mount kit?
- A: The body mount kit is separate.
Q: Will this tub fit on an early (1960) CJ-5 Frame? Is there a general guide that lists what tubs will fit on what frames? I want to put a flat fender tub on this 1960 CJ-5 frame that I have.
- A: If you have a CJ-5 I would recommend getting a CJ-5 tub. I’m sure you could modify but the wheel well lengths are different.
Q: Does the tub get shipped in a wooden crate?
- A: Yes it get shipped in a metal and wooden crate.
Q: I was wondering when you ship a kit do I need to have a fork lift or bunch of people to get it off truck???
- A: They unload it for you!!! It can go to a residential address too.
Q: I have a 1953 CJ-3B frame and would like to put a CJ-2A tub on it, do you know if this is possible? Will the bolt pattern line up for this?
- A: It will work for the most part but you will have to accommodate for the 4-134 F head engine.
Q: I am going to need a tub kit for my 1945 Jeep. The serial # is 10336B, which complete kit will I need and how much of it comes assembled?
- A: For that vehicle it is part number: A12237
Q: Is the windshield frame stamped Willys like the original?
- A: Yes that is correct. The windshield frame, tailgate and hood are all stamped ‘Willys’
Q: Will this kit come with all the hardware, like the screws, washers, nuts , and bolts and any other piece to put this together properly?
- A: The hardware such as nuts and bolts is really just a local nut & bolt warehouse items. We do have body mounting kits, etc…
Q: Will this kit fit a very early 1949 CJ-3A. My old willy’s had CJ-2A fenders, and windshield, but a 3A body sticker. I was told that is not unusual as they used up all the 2A stuff on early 49 3A’s. Go figure…. Also, can I put a M38 tailgate on for mounting the spare and gas can on the rear?
- A: Yes you should be all set. They are basically the same.
Q: Could you please give me the complete body tub kit crate size (length, height, width, and weight )?
- A: L:89 W:40 H:66 LBS:672. They usually ship within 1 business day or less.
Q: I just purchased a jeep that says it is a CJ-2A on the title. The body tag under the hood is gone and not able to find anything on the frame. I was thinking about getting a new tub but an email states the CJ-2A never had a glove box but this one does. It also has like a tool compartment on each side in the back behind the rear wheel. The title says it is a 1948. Do you think maybe it is not a CJ-2A?
- A: Its not a CJ-2A then. Please call us toll free. We can ID your vehicle and get you fixed up.
Q: I just got my new body kit, looks like there is quite a steel crate it comes in thanks looks great!
- A: They do a really good job crating them.
Q: I have a CJ-2A with an L head engine installed. The previous owner cut a hole in the hood to accommodate the increased height. Do you have a better suggestion on how to use a CJ-2A hood without needing to cut it? I have read that changing the position of the carburetor might help. I am planning to obtain a new body kit, but I hate to cut the new hood.
- A: Sounds like they have the 4-134 F head engine in there. The 4-134 L was the original.
Q: Do these bodies come with a title? Or do you have to get one built?
- A: You have to use your title or get one from your local DMV.
Q: I have bought a 1946 Willys Jeep according to the title. The front grill has a location for headlights, running lights and a 2nd location for maybe blinkers my guess. I was not aware there were blinkers on the 46 Willys. Vehicle Id. # 14216 I have the vin if you need it. Any help would be appreciated
- A: Sounds like someone drilled some extra holes in your grille. They originally did not have turn signal in the front. It’s common though to put them in now.
Q: I have a 1946 CJ-2A, if I were to replace the body tub with this kit, would it de-value the vehicle?
- A: No, it would only raise the value by more than the cost of the kit.
