New Replacement Horn Relay in 6 or 12 volt – Part#: 926919
Q: I have a 1965 CJ-5,The horn works if I jump directly from the battery. Does this 65 use a relay? If so, where is it located?
- A: Yes typically you have a junction block to accomplish this on the CJ-5.
Q: Do you know where I can find the wiring diagram for horn relay on my 1948 CJ-2A?
- A: Please call us toll free. We may be able to help out.
Q: When using a 12v aftermarket horn with one connection on a 1945 MB… do I need to add a relay for this thing to work with the original horn button in the steering wheel?
- A: Yes you will need a relay.
Q: I want to get my husband a horn for his Willys Jeep… is this a complete horn system?
- A: This is the relay only. The horn is part number: 12VHORN
Q: I have converted my 1950 CJ-3A to 12V… the original horn is 6V. It sounds ok on 6V only, do I need a voltage reducer AND relay for this to function properly? Do you have voltage reducers?
- A: Eventually it will burn out if you are running a 12 volt system on a 6 volt horn. It will be ok for a while but I wouldn’t honk for too long if you don’t want it to burn out.
Q: What wires should be connected to this relay, where do they connect on both ends and what size wire should be used? I have a 12-volt alternator, 3 wire connections (Chevy 350cid I’m told), a fender mounted voltage regulator and a volt meter (not ammeter). I have recently restored the horn function to the steering wheel, including the contact bushing and brush on the column. When I get my new relay and light switch from you folks I need to know these things, if you can help. Thanks!
- A: They come with instructions or we can fax/email them over to you. Please call us toll free or email: mike@kaiserwillys.com and we can help you.
Q: Can you please send me the instructions on how the horn relay wires should be connected. Thanks in advance for your help.
- A: Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com or call us toll free. We can fax or email them to you.
Q: We’re is the horn relay located on a 1964 CJ-3B?
- A: I believe they were typically on the firewall or drivers side inner fender.
Q: I have a 48 CJ-2A, do you have a wiring diagram for the horn?
- A: Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com exactly what your wanting and we can try to help.
