Purchased in 1987 as a pick-up. Clutch went out in 1990 and for some reason I took it all apart. Once that happened I was committed (my wife wanted me to be). I teamed up with Lenny the body man for a local ‘big’ truck dealer and we spent the winter in my garage. A trip to the local welding guy and I had a dump truck. The truck has both dress and work racks as well a protective matt for the bed. It spends most of the time in the work mode. I think this truck is from the Portsmonth, NH Navy Yard. It has the F4-134 engine as well as fog light that is not standard. Willys experts tell me that by 1962 most of the trucks had the 6 cylinder motor. It only had 45k miles and was in excellent shape except for the pick up box.
Hi chuck,
My name is Jose, from Honduras, i have a willys 1962 same like yours, it has the F4-134 engine, this truck came from US as a farm truck for work in the banana’S plantation american company, this truck came with that engine, but this guys from kaiser told me its not the original engine but i dont think thats true, my father who past away 2 years ago never said that , also my uncle confirms that that its the original engine .My truck never had a bed before that i remember, my father restored it 18 years ago and he bought the original bed from another truck,
Thanks Chuck, I just wanted to tell you that and congratulations your truck is awesome.
