Mike McLain

Registered as a 46, but has parts from all over. 75 Buick V6, 67 Muncie 4 speed, GM Power steering. New dual brake system, axles and brake drums from 66-71 CJ-5. Completely rewired. No rust, bed liner on inside tub. Hopefully some day a new coat of paint. Truly a work in progress since we bought it three years ago, we have been on top of several mountain ranges over 7000 ft. I can put all of my grand kids in it and run up to mountain top roads. My 16 year old grandson got his first driving lesson on it last summer. It is a love/hate relationship. A lot of work to restore it so that it will be reliable in the back country. The family loves it. I have had 5 Jeeps since my first 69 CJ-5. Also have a 1943 Willys MBT trailer purchased in 70.

  1. Mike, you and your family are outstanding with you fruits of your labor and awesome story. That is what i call TLC for your Willys. We have a similar story, but i didn’t replace any of it components part. We try to keep original to the bolts. Congrat on the grat job you have done. Our 1947 CJ-2A still run great. We use it
around the homestead to do chores etc.
