Here is my family’s 1955 Willys Pickup. We started the project about 10 years ago off a hunch. A young friend of my fathers was going into the military and was looking for a good home for his project. After exchanging a few words, the Willys was ours for the price of $50.  It was formerly a private welding vehicle in Cockeysville, Md. We were able to trace the truck back to it’s original location thanks to the help of a few locals. When we got it home, it was very rough. There were only 3 wheels and the hood had been through-bolted along with a massive welder mount on the rear of the frame. We have since replaced the drivetrain with a system from a 1961 Willys Pickup that was formerly used as a sprayer truck in the Florida Orange Groves. Many winters we have worked on it and it is starting to come together. I hope to be able to drive it to my Senior Prom. It holds a special place in our hearts and it will be great to enjoy. A special thanks to Kaiser Willys for all the parts and technical advice to help us get her back on the road.
