1949 CJ-3A Purchased 3 years ago. It had been sitting in a barn for about 10 years. Converted to 12v, restored body & brakes. Want to rebuild engine this winter.

I love the color of your CJ-3A. I’m in the process of restoring a 1953 CJ-3A and have been looking for the right color yellow. Will you share the color and or paint code used on your jeep.

I am in the process of restoring a 1950 as well. Mine is in good shape but wanted to start by converting to 12 volt with new wiring. What items are needed to complete the 12 volt conversion?
Thanks

Jeff – When converting to 12v. Make sure you convert EVERYTHING on the jeep to 12 v. bulbs, gauges, starter, etc… I used the 1 wire alternator. Very easy.
Al – Thanks for the complament. My paint is Desert Gold – Omni Au Mtk 23577 A

thanks,
Matt
Hi there!!
Love your ‘3a. I’ve got a ‘53 that my grandpa bought in 54. Just got it going for the first time since the 80’s. Anyways, mine is also orange. , and paint will be next. Are those pictures of 2 different orange colors? Or is the paint code you listed of the brighter color?

Hi Brad,
I am in Arizona. I bought my Dad’s 1951 3A on March 23. I am the fourth owner, and there is quite a story attached to our family’s ownership of the Jeep. It is also orange, but not the Canyon Glow color I thought it might be. Is yours Canyon Glow? I’m trying to find photos of a 1951 Canyon Glow so I can see if I want to paint it that color as part of the restoration. Please let me know by emailing me directly at karo@kds.phxcoxmail.com. Thank you.
