Honestly, I never knew too much about old rustic Jeeps. One day I went down to my best friends hometown to visit, and he was deep into a ground up restoration. I was very interested into what he was doing, so I asked several questions. It didn’t take too long until I had the itch. He finished his project and let me drive his ’46. That’s all it took & I knew I had to have one of my own! We scoured much of central and southern Indiana until January of 2014 when we came across this gem of a Jeep. It’s a 1946 Willys CJ2-A, #36499 column shift. Her original color is pasture green, but unfortunately someone decided to “brush paint” another darker green over the top. As mentioned, I purchased her in January and she was turn key ready. We just drove her north from southern Indiana to central Indiana last weekend. Not a single problem with this older beauty. We stopped in Story Indiana for a short rest and a few pictures. This winter I plan to clean it up and work on removing this dark green paint to get back to the original pasture green. I have had a ball of fun so far, I can only imagine what the future will hold!
