Cari Lee
I bought my 1948 CJ-2A last month from an estate sale. The owner, a US Air Force veteran, had recently passed away so his family was forced to sell the Jeep. I instantly fell in love and HAD to have it. I placed a bid and was called the next day with the sad news that I had been out-bid. I was sad, but assumed it just wasn’t meant to be. Two days later I received another call that the person who had out bid me, backed out, and the Jeep was mine for the taking. I drove straight there and paid for the Jeep and brought her home (via trailer). She has since been worked on by my dad and I and she’s in great running condition. The previous owner had painted her like the old army Jeeps so I plan on keeping it that way. The original engine is still in it so I can only cruise around at about 45mph, but I don’t mind.
My dogs love the Jeep and although they look like little prissy dogs, they are country through and through; they run with the big boys. I can’t wait to take the Jeep to the Sierra Nevada Mountains to go camping and take her on the trails. She still is awaiting a name, but I have the feeling it won’t take long.

Hey Cari, Great for you, aren’t they wonderful. I too have a 1948 CJ-2A and have owned it less than a yr. It’s a bit rougher than yours, but except for tires/whls and 12 volt conversion it is all original. My goal for “Willy” was to get it running and make it a survivor/driver and that has happened. A friend told me that “you will make friends with that jeep” and he was right. Enjoy your Jeep looks like you have a great start!

Hey Cari,
Great to hear that you have a CJ-2A. I too have been bitten by the Jeep bug. It started when my father came home with a CJ-2A, I was 12 at the time. Now 57, I have dads old 1947 CJ-2A to restore.
All I can say is keep the old jeep she will give you many smiles and enjoyment.
