To begin, remove the cotter pin and washer from the leaf spring pivot eye bolt and detach the shock absorber tube from the shackle bracket assembly. Disconnect the brake tube from the frame. Next, remove the four attaching nuts, the rear drivers side lower shock mount plate and pull out the remaining U Bolts from the axle assembly. Remove the leaf spring pivot eye & shackle bolt and disconnect the leaf spring from the front shackle bracket. Next, unscrew the leaf spring shackle. Slide the leaf spring from the leaf spring shackle to remove. Finally, when pulling the rear axle from the frame, please use the safest method available. The rear axle is very heavy and caution must be taken to avoid injury.
