Mike McCloud
I was a proud member of USN MCB3 from 1958-1960 at Camp Kubasake Okinawa. We were deployed from Port Hueneme CA. to build MCAS Futema for support of Marine Corps helicopters. I have worked for over 2 years to get this jeep just right. I have added a radio this past summer. Really a lot of fun. I also have the pedestal mount and 50 cal machine gun which really gets a lot of attention. P.S. I used to drive this on a regular basis to Naha NAS. during those 2 years. SEABEES CAN DO!

Hi, Mike,
Really nice looking jeep! Since you were in the Seabees around the time frame of my M38A1, I’m wondering what the exact location was for the Seabee logo on both sides? Was it similar to yours? I have a 1962 Navy M38A1 that was originally USMC Forest Green with USN hood markings in yellow, so it was most likely a Seabee jeep. The electrical connection on the left/passenger side prohibits centering the logo on that panel. I noticed on several M38s that they have the logo set further back. But, I haven’t seen a Seabee M38A1 to confirm the correct placement.
Thanks!
Joe
