This Jeep served the Army at Fort Leavenworth Kansas during the Korean War. Since I retired from the Army at this same past in 2006, it has special meaning for my family. I intend to return it to military specifications.
I wanted to share some great photos from April 1942. These were taken on Fort Riley, Kansas as the Army prepared to fight in Europe. This is a Mechanized Cavalry unit in new jeeps. Good stuff for our WWII restoration projects.
Mike. I got the windshield and it is great. Cant thank you enough. Got it painted olive drab and new glass installed from Kaiser Willys. I will post photos soon. Again, thanks.
I also have a 1951 M38. I bought a complete new body for mine as the tub a mess and would have cost more to repair than to buy new. However the windshield frame is in pretty good shape. Seeing the work you did on the rest of the body, you could make this one work. It is yours for the asking. All you need to do is pick it up or ship it to where you are. I like the dedication to your buddies. I live outside of Richmond VA.
