681: Mark Wells’ 1955 Willys CJ-3B
I thought I’d send you some photos of my 1955 Willys CJ-3B. She has original paint, and my plans are to restore all of the mechanicals, keeping it as original as possible, but to leave the paint and body as is. It was used on an orchard in Hood River, Oregon, but has been in a barn since the early 70’s. My wife and I purchased it from the original owner. Our grandson named her Rosie.

My son and I are a bit further down the same path with a very similar 1954 cj3b, (also red) that we acquired from the original family in New Mexico.
We should follow your lead and post photos and the story, it is after all the stories that make this interesting.

I have a194 CJ-3B with four hood latches. I have asked why I see some 3B’s with only two hood hold downs and some with four. I asked if they were installed at the factory or where did they originate? I was told they did not come from the factory.
I have found that the dimension for their location is not exactly the same from side to side. Does anybody know the origin of the four hood hold downs on the CJ-3B’s?
A lot of models have seen pictures of, only have the two at the front of the hood. Interesting?
Dude, Congratulations on your Jeep and retaining the scrapes and dents and fading that it has earned! I’m an old fart and was with my parents when they bought our 1946 CJ-2A which I still drive in the summer out here in Idaho. I’ve kept it absolutely stock as it is still 6 Volts and such. In 1971 I did repair the floor panels as you might imagine. My Mama taught me to drive in the Jeep and I taught my son and you can imagine it is quite dear to us. I’m planning on sending in pictures and history but have been quite puny for a while.
