177: Thomas Shipps’ 1946 Willys CJ-2A
This is my 1946 CJ-2A. I am enjoying tooling around in this at my home, near the Big Horn Mtns in WY. My daughter just learned to drive it. As you can see, it is not all original, but Jeeps are a cool heritage.

thomas,
My first Jeep was a ’46 2A with a steering column shift. the 5:38 gears made a monkey out of many newer vehicles on steady long climbs. Any time you think yours wasn’t original I had the ’63 198 V-6, Hudson steering mercury brakes, Warn overdrive, locked both ends with L-78 15 tires on house trailer rims. later a Ramsey PTO winch. It put many newer vehicles to shame for performance The only reason i still do not have it is because the frame rusted out. Enjoy, I did for 1/2 of my life.
Sincerely,
Dave Jones
Very nice Jeep! I’m sure its a lot of fun riding around on a summer day….
