My dad and I found the Jeep in southern Montana in rough shape in the early spring of 2017. The goal was to strip it down and restore the mechanical aspects as needed. I learned a great deal throughout the process and even rebuilt the transmission on my own. My dad helped me with just about everything else. This spring we finished putting it back together. I love the look of the weather worn paint so we decided against painting it. In the past few months I’ve put several hundred miles on it running around the back roads here in north Idaho. My dad is currently working on getting his 1948 CJ-2A road worthy.

Oh what a lovely looking cj5, nice that you have not decided yo paint it, it has a character and a story to tell. Kudos to you and your father saving this beauty and I hope you enjoy it in future for long.
Great looking Jeep, companion and scenery. Your Jeep–please yourself. What size rims on it? I have a 67 . I,m gonna start on in the spring. Right now I,m just finishing up on my bronco–its been a long road to travel.
I am curious to know the rim diameter on this jeep. The rims look larger than usual…and has a nice look.
Mine is a 1962 CJ5 and looks almost the same except mine has green paint in spots rest is rust brown. Going to clear coat soon to preserve.
Thanks for the show
I love what you have done – and NOT done.
Love the look. Good job. Enjoy many more miles
It’s a Jeep. Shouldn’t look showroom fresh. Wish I could get mine as great looking. Enjoy the ride.
That machine is sweet! The paint is perfect. Enjoy!😎
Jeep looks good, leave the patina.
Sorry to say this but your “Road Worthy CJ5” may be Road Worthy, but it’s Not a CJ5 unless someone somewhere in it’s lifetime decided to reverse the mounting of the front leaf springs making it into the military style. Or more likely you have a Road Worthy M38A1, congratulations 🤷♂️
It is a 1956. Dog loves it and is nice enough to let me drive!
What year ? Never should have sold my 1974
It always started. Leave it the way it is.Luv the patina.
Nice job.
Nicely done, Greg !! Makes me wish for one or both of my old CJ-5’s when I was young….when we get up there, you’re going to have to take your old Uncle for a ride !!
One bad ass looking Jeep. Love your driving companion. Also like those tires. Keep on Jeeping!
Great looking Jeep! I agree…don’t paint it!
What year model is it? I Have a 1963 CJ5 that almost looks identical to yours, including the front bumper, PTO winch, tow hooks and tow bar mounts! Mine is the same color faded green, but a previous owner added home applied camo, which I have left. Mine has a steel top. I use mine around the farm, and although tagged for the road, don’t drive it on the highway too much “cause “hurry-ups” are always blowing their horn to get out of the way. Jeeps are awesome!!! You’ve done a great job on yours!!
Dawgs love Jeeps.
NIce job…
Perfect the way it is.
