Jack, What a cool story, must be around a 50 – 53, Have one just like it, a 53 but see the grill bars are not all there and the parking light have been converted, but who cares. Just love these old Willys pickups, and all the early Jeeps.

Glad your wife will still speak to you. why the long trip? i have a 61 truck and for many years my daily driver, 10 mile round trip. Never would consider longer, just to consider all the low speed original equipment. That being said, i have modern Chevy running gear going in mine as i type

I would love to see Waldo’s bed. I too want to attach some lumber racks but don’t want to mess up the bed rails. I would like to see what approach you used.
