George Sickler

After a three year build my 48 wagon is complete. We fitted a 400 cube chev motor with auto box, extended the dashboard to accommodate an aircon/heater combo ex Honda balade, built a frame to accommodate the  jaguar xj 6 front and rear suspension, put the more modern instrumentation behind the driver cubby hole lid. Willys hubcaps and trim fits the Jaguar rims like a glove. We also kept the exterior looking as close to the original as possible. My son Andrew did all the work from the manufacturing of the frame to the paint job and the electrics.

I enclose some before and after pictures of the 48 and also a picture of the 50 wagon still in progress. The 50 will be absolutely original.

Regards,

George Sickler, Cape Town, South Africa

  1. Hello George,

I purchased a1950 Jeepster that has been repowered. I would like to bring the rims and tires back to a factory look. I’ve purchased the Jeepster hubcaps and springs ad plan on using salvage rims (Ford 5×143). Are there any details that I need to pay closer attention to for the hubcaps and springs to mount?
    Thanks,
    Ralph
