Mayes Howard
In 1973, my father purchased this jeep from a local farmer than was using it as his tractor to plow his fields. Dad and my older brother spent years restoring the jeep as best as they could with the scarcity of parts and money at the time. Over time dad was able to rebuild the engine, perform tons of body work, and apply several new paint jobs. It learned to drive with this jeep at the age of 12. Naturally, when I attended high school, it was my preferred mode of transportation due to the fact it was a chick magnet! LOL! It is still in the family after all these years. My son has begun to take the reigns on keeping it in good working order. Our plans are to begin the next round of restorations once he graduates from college next year. This jeep has allowed, not only our family to enjoy riding in this “time machine”, but my high school buddies are loving the ride back in time as well!
