David Nowlin

This is an Ontario Canadian built MD that saw service in Canada. Not sure how it got down here to florida. Bought it not running and wrong color. I did a minor restoration in my garage so I can drive it while making plans later for a full restoration. New ignition parts and the correct 24 volt alternator and got it running. Paint, stencils and new canvas top and seats. The numbers were my buddies unit in vietnam and the hood is 209 and my dads last 4 of his social security number to honor both of my heros.

  1. Great job on the restoration! I have a ’53 M38A1 that’s been in my family since ’73. It’s in real need for new part and body work but runs great.I’m curious…do you have any problems with battery drain? I have had to put blade switches on both battery posts to keep mine from draining the batteries after setting up a few days.

Thanks again for the pictures & inspiration!

    Cheers

  3. Thanks. No my batteries stay charged and I got a battery tender just because I dont run it very much yet.
I had problems and found that my alternator was a 12 volt. Once I got that replaced i was good to go.
