My jeepster was remodeled in 1966. A Mustang 289cc engine w/a Mustang drivetrain was installed. The seats are done by a local furniture upholsterer. It was stored in a garage for the next thirty years. I had the engine fuel injected and added a mustange II front end w/disc brakes, rack&pinion steering, and sway bars. The car now resides in my garage in Shell Beach (Pismo), Ca. awaiting my arrival. I enjoy driving it everywhere on the central coast.

I rebuilt this 49 Willys Jeepster. When I bought it the original body had been put on an S10 frame with a 2.8L v6 and automatic transmission. The previous owner could not complete the project because of his health. I put on the v front clip, did the body work and finished it out. The front seats are from a late 60s CJ, rear seat a Dodge mini van. The gauge panel is for a 36 Ford pickup. It is a great driver and a real head turner.

1950 Kaiser Overland Jeepster. This Jeepster was purchased by my future father in-law (Steve Christy) in 1977 in Tucson AZ. When the vehicle was purchased it was in poor condition, yet rust free. The vehicle was restored at that time, however sat for approx the last 15 years and was exposed to the elements. With the help of Kaiser Willys and my favorite TJ paint and Body shop the Ole Jeepster has been brought back to its\' original pristine condition.

The first Jeepster picture was taken in 1959. It shows the 1949 Jeepster my parents bought from a good friend (therefore the price was right) because my dad had to frequently take the family car out of town on business leaving my mom with four kids who needed to get to the local lake beach during school summer vacation so they didn\'t drive her nuts. The kids (left to right) are my sister Kris (age 15), myself (16), sister Karen (10) and brother Fred (8). Also, I had my driver\'s license and Kris would get hers in a few months so there was the pressure of two teen-age drivers. Our family kept the Jeepster for about 10 years, and I taught my high school girlfriend (future wife) to drive a stick shift in that Jeepster (OK, she may have already known how to drive a stick, but you know the routine). The Jeepster was the most fun I had driving a car, and it was always in the back of my mind. Then early in 2011 I began to seriously look for a similar car, I put an ad in the Jeepster news looking for a yellow 1949 Jeepster in good enough condition to drive from where it was now back to St. Paul, Minnesota. I got a response from Chris and Bea Northcott in Franklin, Indiana; flew down there, kicked the tires, and drove it the 650 miles back to Minnesota. The second Jeepster picture was taken 52 years after the first with the same four Osten siblings who appeared in the 1959 picture. It\'s a stock car and so far has been in two car shows, one parade, at several picnics, lunches & suppers, and frequently at the local golf driving range with my grandson - I bought it to drive it. <br> Ev Osten

Mike, Thanks for all your wonderful help, without your part availability and knowledge we would not have been able to build and finish my wife Jennies amazing 1949 Jeepster. As you will see in the following pictures she's a real beauty and head turner. We entered her in the 2009 PORTLAND ROADSTER SHOW for kicks and won top honors in her class and to boot she won best upholstery. Jennie designed the interior with Martini Glass door panels and front emblem. Please enjoy and thanks again for all your good advice. Harrison and Jennie Roberts--Washougal, Washington

I found this 1948 Jeepster on E Bay about a year ago. The engine went bad and the car was stored in a barn in Dallas Tx ready for this over 50 years. I purchased it from the original owner. The tires are new as well as the brakes. I sent the motor to a machine shop and they changed every moveing part plus they bored the block and pressed in harden valve seats for no lead gas. I took on the jobs of new syncro,s in the transmission and a new wireing harness. I use it as a dayly driver and it has 61,000 miles on the clock. - HL

I am in need of any advise or help in the Kansas area on how to remove both rear brake hubs on my 1949 Willys Jeepster. It sat in storage for 30 years and I can not get them to budge. Any help would be awesome. Thanks
Just bought a 1949 Willy’s Jeepster Overland and am in need of a mechanic in SF or near SF. Any ideas. Just don’t want to leave my repairs to anyone and really want an expert! Thanks, J

I am trying to locate the alignment specs. for a 1949 Jeepster. any leads?
Hi John, We don’t really get into conversions that are not original to the vehicle. We can supply you with any restoration parts you may need. You can also try Jeepster Jim, he specializes in the Willys Jeepster and check out Forums to see if others have done this same conversion.
I have a 1948 Willy’s Jeepster with a 350 chevy engine. Yesterday while driving, the steering completely went out. I suspect that the internal worm gear in the steering box failed.
I now want to convert the front suspension system to a mustang II. What are the difficulties in doing this. Is there a kit specifically for the willys? Does the engine have to be pulled?
I am in Michigan, anyone know of a place that does this?

Hi fellow “Jeepster’ers” ha ha… I’m in great need of a windshield frame for my ’50 Jeepster!! Truly hoping that someone can help me locate one. I have completely finished “except paint”, my jeepster. Theres no sense in going any further on the project, having no windshield frame. At one time, in the early ’80’s, my car was complete, with all parts n pieces. Somehow, I lost the windshield frame. Is there anyone that can steer me in the direction of possibly finding this?
Thank You.

Hi Hudson, We have complete steering gear box repair kits. What engine do you have in it? Year?
I need help with finding a power steering gear box that will fit my jeepster. My wife can’t drive the jeepster because it is to difficult to turn the wheels at slow speeds. I am considering rebuilding all of the steering components but I think some of them will be replaced when fitting a power steering gear to the unit. Thanks for your help.
