Sirs, My Grandfather (Merl Peters) built this in the 1970s. It is the combination of a 1942 GPW and 1949 Willys. The cab is from a 1950s 2.5 ton truck that he narrowed, the seat is from whatever was laying around, the doors, box and much of the interior are all fabricated from old road signs and scrap metal by Merl. I restored this a few years ago after he died ( with many parts from Kaiser Willys). I added some before shots as well. Thank You Kendall Bassett

Would anyone have a digital photo you could share of an early mountain jeep road scene shortly after WWII with a military surplus jeep, and early Jeep Willys or some other early off-road vehicles?
I’m the graphic designer for 15 wayside kiosks for the Collegiate Peaks Scenic Byway in Chaffee County, Colorado. In a historic panel about mountain recreation, we mention the beginning of 4-wheeling and would like a photo from the early days. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to find an appropriate photo of this in any of the usual photo archives. Would any of you have anything we could use?
Thank you, Kathy McCoy
