Not a classic restoration but a real fun machine. I am a mech engineer around mid 40s. For over 20 years I was an extreme enthusiast of bimmers – mainly E32s and E34s. Still own a b11 3.2 Alpina.
This year I bought this custom built M38 from a well known offroad legend and Jeep built/modification master in Turkey.
The body is of 1949 but the chassis and drive train are modified 1978 CJ5 platform. The engine is slightly modified AMC 232 6 inline and I am in the stage of installing a 390 cfm 4bbl Edelbrock carburetor and new intake manifold to match.
It has already a remarkable 0-60 mph performance due to transmission gear ratio selections but will be wilder after carb change 🙂
I mostly like to ride it on the beach – if not spinning tires on the asphalt 🙂
Thanks – best regards
