  1. I restored a jeep and painted it with navy markings that looked IDENTICAL to yours many years ago and put my squadron on it (vp-11). the vp-11 was put on with vinyl letters and numbers.
    I got the idea from a twin jeep that was bought at the same time which had a VS squadron numbers on it and had the name “sawbuck one” on the sides of the hood.

    I sold it to a pilot who said he was going to drive it at the airport in southern california that he had his plane at.

    if this is the same jeep, I may have pictures of the restoration effort.
