This Jeep was my grandfather’s. He gave it to his son (my uncle) who had it for a while then ended up selling to a friend of his several years ago. My Grandfather passed away in 2006 and this Jeep represents some of the greatest times and earliest memories that I am capable of recalling.
I found it with the help of my Dad in 2007 and it was in a sad state. Broken, worn, rusted, weathered but still tough at heart. A description that could easily be transferred to my grandfather. 120215 needed a lot of work but it was back home where it belongs and would be properly cared for. Spent most of its early days roaming the woods of NH and plowing and towing and working as I imagine most of his kin were doing at the time. It wasn’t until the early 80s that I got my first look at it. Pulling into the driveway/dirt path flanked by the forest, the lights from our car flashed quickly across the two giant round headlights and rounded fenders almost wielding a big cheeky smile as it sat perched on a hill overlooking its domain. That is the description of the earliest memory that I can access. That big cheeky full fendered smile.
We have replaced the F134 due to cracked block, original transmission, transfer case, front and rear axle, steering wheel and column, hood, grille and frame. Changed from 6″ to 8″ tires to give it a beefy and stronger look (I think). Attempted to keep it as genuine as I could while still making it safe. Seat belts and front disc brakes added.
Enjoy the pics!

That is one of the best stories I’ve heard. My JEEP has become a member of my family, but didn’t start out as one. You have a true legacy of love to pass on.

What a wonderful tribute to your grandfather’s legacy. Please keep it in the family! (My 64 CJ5 was handed down to me when my grandfather passed as well.)
Nice job, your gradfather would be proud.
